SCB Steelers Quick Hitters: The “Reese’s Pieces” Edition

Good Friday to you Steelers fans.

We are now firmly entrenched into all that is the 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl down in Mobile, Alabama. While the weather hasn’t exactly been stellar, it hasn’t stopped this year’s group of NFL Draft hopefuls from putting their best foot forward. The rainy weather appeared to hamper nearly all of the quarterbacks to some degree. According to several on site reporters, Kenny Pickett struggled the most. Carson Strong looks to have the biggest arm but also left a lot to be desired in terms of of his overall performance. Minnesota offensive tackle prospect Daniel Faalele, a literal mountain of a man at 6’9″ and well over 300lbs, has looked good but his lack of quickness is concerning in terms of dealing with pass rushers. Malik Willis, the Liberty QB getting a lot of attention from the Steelers, has been incredibly inconsistent. He’ll look good at times and then not so good. Accuracy issues appear to be the biggest culprit. The Senior Bowl will air this weekend on the NFL Network so check it out.

Super Bowl Odds

We are a little more than a week away from Super Bowl 56 where the Cincinnati Bengals will “host” the Los Angeles Rams. Despite playing in SoFi Stadium, the home of the Rams, the Bengals are the home team and will wear their black jerseys. Click the link above for the latest odds on the Big Game!

Tweet of the Day… There should be some form of punishment for people who do this.

The Podcast

What do you get when four guys are drinking during a podcast? It probably looks something like what we did last night on the latest episode of the SCB Steelers Podcast presented by DEK Roofing Inc. We discussed the goings on at the Senior Bowl but spent the majority of our time discussing the free agents and one-year left guys on the roster. Tune in for some laughs and great Steelers talk.

Steelers at the Pro Bowl

T.J. Watt, Cam Heyward, Najee Harris and Diontae Johnson are all enjoying themselves so far at the NFL Pro Bowl in Las Vegas. Keep in mind the key words that I said there was “enjoying themselves.” This is a week of installing basic offenses and defenses. It’s much more importantly a week of fellowship among these guys who enjoy seeing and meeting one another. The game itself is a glorified scrimmage where the number one goal is to remain healthy. Regardless of how a player performs, don’t read anything into it.
