SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “Proving It” Edition

Good Day to you Steelers’ Fans!

The accolades continue to pour in for Steelers’ running back James Conner who added AFC Offensive Player of the Month to his ‘Player of the Week’ announced just a day prior. If there’s one knock on Conner so far it’s that he came up quite empty against Baltimore earlier in the season. He rushed for just 19 yards on nine carries and it led to the talking heads tripping over themselves to suggest this was why the Steelers needed Le’Veon Bell back. I believe Conner has largely quieted those folks but a big performance in a big game against the number one rival would silence them period. If he has pedestrian numbers again and in a loss the topic will come up whether we like it or not. I’m hoping he proves he’s the guy we believe him to be and for the long run!

The Steel City Blitz Steelers Podcast 103 presented by 26shirts.com/Pittsburgh recorded last night and is right here for your listening pleasure! Everything you need to know heading into the Steelers showdown with Baltimore!

Tweet of the Day… A little Steelers’ history lesson from Labs.

JuJu Smith-Schuster dressed in his uniform and went trick or treating with neighborhood kids Wednesday night. Again I ask, how could anyone have a problem with this young man? Apparently some just feel the need to push their own image and agenda in hopes of making themselves feel better. Pretty sad isn’t it?

Not sure if you saw some of the quotes from former Browns’ Coach Hue Jackson. I’ve posted them below.

Those comments are really alarming. Have to wonder just what kind of mental state Jackson is in. I mean, that is some bizarre stuff.

Revisionist history is always a bit easy to use when it comes to draft picks. The Steelers former first round pick Artie Burns is clearly struggling so that led some writers to dive into the “who the Steelers could have drafted” articles. Were there more talented and more established guys available? Absolutely but those who tell fans all the time to “trust the Steelers’ process” only to turn around and question them make no sense to me. Unless of course they’re doing it to get attention themselves.

Make sure you are following Ian’s WPIAL coverage as the postseason begins tonight. Plus look for our game preview, the “Three-Point Stance” and our “Week in Review” later this weekend!

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
