Good Tuesday you Steelers fans.
We are little more than a week away from the 90 players arriving at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. I can only speak for myself here but considering the current climate of society in our country I’ve never needed the Steelers to return more than I do this year. This isn’t to say that there isn’t a significant amount of conflict, disagreement and angst regarding the Steelers (just look at social media), but to me it’s a hell of a lot better than the current political discourse. The beautiful thing about Steelers’ fans is that we come from different parts of the city, the state, the country and the world. We all have differences whether they be religious, cultural or political but at the very least we can come together in the hopes that our team can have a season that makes those other things take a back seat. Can’t wait to see the Black and Gold (and humidity) return!

NCAA, Errrrrr, College Football 25
I’m of the age where video games where just beginning. I remember playing PONG, that’s how ancient I am. For my money however, there was noting quite like Tecmo Bowl and then NCAA Football. The college football video game went through a few iterations – Bill Walsh, NCAA and now EA Sports College Football – with each getting better and better. Technology obviously helped this a great deal but then the ‘Name, Image, Likeness’ stuff started and the final version of NCAA Football ended back in 2013. My son and I bonded over that game and I can’t tell you how giddy we were yesterday as the minutes counted down for the return of the game. We actually went to breakfast to ‘celebrate’ the return of the beloved game. Whether you had a similar passion for the game or not doesn’t matter. You likely have passions outside the Steelers and I encourage you to enjoy them!
Camp Things to Keep in Mind
Every year at Training Camp there is always a player or two that captivates the media and fans. When the preseason games roll around, said player or players will continue to shine but then suddenly the fan base is stunned when the player doesn’t even make the roster. We must remember a lot of guys will make plays and take advantage of their opportunities but the reality was, they really weren’t part of the overall plan anyway. This isn’t to say they couldn’t at some point in the future become a player for the Steelers but all too often they don’t. Names like Justin Brown and Baron Batch come to mind. Just remember that what we see isn’t always what Mike Tomlin and company see.
