SCB Steelers Quick Hitters: The “Off the Rails” Edition

by Steeldad

Good Thursday to you Steelers’ fans.

What’s that old, old saying? “The best laid plans of mice and men often go astray?” Ya I think that’s it. That kind of describes our podcast last night and I mean this in the best terms possible. I often throw an agenda together, send it to Ben and Ian and go from there. We touched on all of the things the agenda laid out but the order and manner in which we did was, well… bonkers! You will definitely want to listen to the latest SCB Steelers Podcast presented by DEK Roofing Inc because it’s informative as always. But it’s also going to provide you with a lot of laughs. This is the type of show that often happens during the off-season and I make no apologies because it really was a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy it. Sometimes going off the rails isn’t so bad.

Bensylvania

I can’t say enough how great working with DC4L Custom Tees is. They turn around our ideas quickly and always kick out awesome looking shirts. Our newest offering celebrating Ben Roethlisberger is no different. Check it out!!

Tweet of the Day… Our friend Joe sums up the current feelings of many in a very simple tweet.

New Uni’s

Let me see if I have this right. So far the Rams, Chargers, Patriots, Browns, Falcons and Buccaneers have unveiled new uniforms for the coming season. The LA Rams being the most recent to do so just this week. First, as I have said many times, I’m grateful the Steelers cling to their traditions as much as they do. If all I can whine about is a return to the block numerals then I’d say they’ve done well. Let’s face it though; new uniforms is all about marketing and money. Both LA teams are opening a new stadium so hey, new uni’s! The NFL is running the risk in some cities of becoming the Oregon Ducks. They have thousands of different combinations and for what reason? To sell jerseys. I sure hope the NFL doesn’t go in this direction but it won’t surprise me if they do. I just hope the Steelers continue to do as they have.

Preseason Schedule

The Steelers released the dates and times for their five preseason tilts this morning. The Hall of Fame Game vs Dallas will be August 6th at 8pm. They’ll face the Bucs at Heinz Field on August 14th at 730pm. The Saints come to town on the 23rd for a Primetime TV game at 8pm and then they finish on the road against the NYJ on August 28th at 730pm and finish the preseason at Carolina on September 3rd at 730pm. This will be the 18th consecutive year the Steelers and Panthers close the preseason against each other.

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
