Good Wednesday to you Steelers’ Fans.
It was as inevitable as a T.J. Watt leg kick following a sack… The Governor of Ohio said yesterday that he does not see fans being allowed in Canton for the Hall of Fame Game between our Steelers and the Dallas Cowboys. We have to face a very stark reality here; there’s a good chance we may not even have football that day either. Look at what’s happening around us. We already have several NFL players who have tested positive for Covid-19 and teams haven’t even come together yet to start training for the season. It is my hope that while no fans will be allowed to attend the game, I want to see fans allowed for the induction ceremony. All of the players who are being inducted deserve to have fans in attendance. If they can’t be, then the ceremony should be postponed until such time arrives.
Tweet of the Day… Stevi says exactly what many of us are feeling.
I just want football to come back so I can be somewhat of a pleasant person again for a few months.

Kaepernick to the Steelers?
I know many of you just spit out your coffee or other beverage of choice but let me play devil’s advocate for a minute. Disclaimer: I am not in favor of signing him. Several years back, would you have envisioned the Steelers signing Michael Vick? This was a guy who spent time in prison for some pretty awful offenses. Not everyone was on board with the decision but if the ownership signed off on it then most of us accepted it. As for Kaepernick, he’s guilty not of any crimes but of violating an American ritual. He made a dumb choice by wearing socks with pigs in police uniforms on too and certainly didn’t back down from his stances. But what has he done that is worse than Vick? I don’t think Kaepernick was playing particularly well in his final season but ask yourself this, if he were “just another QB” and none of this had occurred would you want him over Mason Rudolph? If there’s any owner and any coach who could handle this it’s Art Rooney II and Mike Tomlin. However, I don’t see it happening.
Ian lays out the new ‘bracket’ format instituted by the PIAA and how it affects WPIAL moving forward. A must read for fans of our high school football coverage in Western PA.
Have a great day Steeler Nation!
