Good Wednesday to you Steelers fans.
Despite the last two weeks that saw the Steelers tie the worst team in the league and then score 37 points in a loss there is some good news on the horizon. As of this moment it looks like the defense will be getting back T.J. Watt, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Joe Haden. Fitzpatrick should be 100% as he’s coming off the Covid-19 list. As for the other two, I’ll gladly take them both back even at 75% as this defense sorely needs their presence. The bad news of course is that the defensive line is still on the struggle bus and so too are the inside linebackers. No amount of Watt, Minkah or Haden can cure those issues. I took some time to ponder what is happening with Devin Bush yesterday and honestly I still am not sure as to the exact issue he’s having. I’m of the mindset that it’s a combination of things. With Joe Mixon, Joe Burrow and then Lamar Jackson on the menu in the next two weeks, Keith Butler and company better get things together in a damn hurry.
Tweet of the Day… Growing pains big time.
The #Steelers offensive line is not good.
The need to get younger this year was legitimate, but they've got a lot of growing to do as a unit. Very inconsistent group. https://t.co/O5KDUIzOl8— Ben Anderson (@BenAnderson58) November 24, 2021
Roster Moves
With Eric Ebron likely headed for knee surgery the team elevated Kevin Rader to the active roster. Also of particular note is that Ray Ray McCloud is now on the Covid-19 list. That means there will be someone else doing the punt and kick return duties in Cincinnati. Rashaad Coward and tight end Jace Sternberger have signed to the practice squad as well.
Inappropriate
I’m open to just about any form of booing or displeasure with a coach but doesn’t there have to be a line somewhere? The other night at a Chicago Bulls’ BASKETBALL game the crowd started chanting “Fire Matt Nagy” the Chicago FOOTBALL team’s coach. This is weird but hey, no big deal as far as I’m concerned. Where I draw the line is when the coach himself is at his son’s game and the crowd starts chanting at him. To me that’s over the line and total bullshit. You don’t like the guy? Fine, but leave him the hell alone at his kid’s game.
Pro Bowl
Voting for the 2022 NFL Pro Bowl is now underway. You can vote for all of your favorite Steelers by clicking this link right here. I’m of the opinion that Chris Boswell, Cam Heyward and T.J. Watt should 100% be on their way to this game.
