Good Friday to you Steelers fans.
Yesterday was the final day for NFL players to opt out of the 2020 season due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In total, 67 players will not participate for their respective teams. The New England Patriots led all teams with eight players while LA Chargers, Atlanta Falcons and your Pittsburgh Steelers were the only teams with zero opt outs. Many fans of these three teams will feel good. They’ll beat their chests and say, “yeah! My team is totally committed to this season!” Let me first say that I totally respect the decisions made by these 67 men. It is clear to me they are putting others and in some cases their own health ahead of football glory and success. We are starting to see a number of the best players in college football so the same. Penn State Superstar Linebacker Micah Parsons has opted out as of this morning. So I will hold no ill will towards any of these guys. What I can tell you regarding the Steelers is that there were a couple of guys who strongly considered skipping the season. They didn’t and we should all be glad. Let us all hope the commitments made by our Steelers pays off in the end.
Washington Returns
Just moments ago the Steelers reactivated WR James Washington from the Reserve/Covid-19 list which is obviously great news for him and the Steelers.
Tweet of the Day… There are a lot of Steelers fans who have no idea who Cam’s father was.
Guys my dad was an animal! I got hyped and sad at the same time! #ironhead https://t.co/rfcd8C1l34

Tomlin on Ben
Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin has some comments on Ben Roethlisberger yesterday. “I am extremely comfortable with where he is in the process,” said Tomlin. “There has been great communication from him and the medical professionals through his rehab process. I did watch him throw. I didn’t see anything that was alarming in any way. His velocity is excellent. Maybe his spiral could be a little tighter, I have seen it tighter, but nothing to alarm you in any way.” Former Steeler Ryan Clark said on ESPN that Tomlin’s comment about the spiral was actually code for “he’s doing great.” Clark would know having played for Tomlin. Most football coaches are always reticent to give “full praise” to players. Even superstars.
