SCB Steelers Quick Hitters: The “Destroyed” Edition

Good Thursday to you Steelers fans.

Apparently the Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t just beat the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. They may have also completely destroyed them. In the last few days, Odell Beckham Jr’s father posted a video with all of the times Baker Mayfield didn’t throw it to his son. Several players “liked” the video and from the snowball started rolling downhill. At last word, Beckham’s agent was in negotiations with Browns’ GM Andrew Berry. They were discussing what the rest of the season would look like for the disgruntled wideout. According to several reports, Beckham was ready for practice but was told to go home. While all of this turmoil may be humorous for us in SteelerNation, let’s not forget that the Browns’ offense usually functions better when OBJ isn’t a part of it. This may not be as true this time around due to injuries to the offensive line and Kareem Hunt. The entire situation has to be difficult for Browns’ fans who were under the impression this team was headed to the Super Bowl. Perhaps they still are but they’re a long way from it right now.

Tweet of the Day… I can already hear the Bengals’ fans screaming about Ja’Marr Chase.

From the Training Room

Because the Steelers don’t play until Monday night, there was no injury report for Wednesday. Overall, the team is relatively healthy. Eric Ebron (groin) and Chris Boswell (concussion protocol) are the two main guys worth watching.

Brothers

Most of you know the Steelers have two sets of brothers on the roster. Derek and T.J. Watt along with Terrell and Tre Edmunds. Now we can officially add a third set of bros. Carlos Davis has been joined by his brother Khalil who signed to the Steelers’ Practice squad this week. Despite playing much better Sunday, the D-Line can still use all the help it can get.

The Podcast

Tonight on the SCB Steelers Podcast presented by DEK Roofing inc we will be joined by our favorite Troy Polamalu fan and favorite person of all-time from the U.K. Miss Ellie Finnerty. She will give us her thoughts on the Steelers through this point in the season and I’m sure she’ll have plenty of opinions you won’t want to miss!

If You Would Have Told Me….

That tight end Zach Gentry would have six receptions for 60 yards at this point in the season I would have said you were nuts. It was obvious that Gentry put in a lot of time in the weight room during the offseason but he’s also made himself a guy that can be depended on to catch a ball or two. Kudos to him for making something of himself.
