The Steelers will practice today from 1-3pm.

Latest Injury News: QB Ben Roethlisberger said Tuesday on his radio show that he was not ruling himself out for Sunday. He did not practice yesterday and was reportedly walking with a limp. I don’t see him playing Sunday. DeAngelo Williams did not practice either. He is out with a swollen foot. Jordan Todman would get start should Williams not play.

Also not practicing yesterday were Ryan Shazier (knee), James Harrison (knee) and Marcus Gilbert (toe).

After one week of Jacoby Jones it looks very much like Dri Archer wasn’t the problem on kick returns. Jones, wearing the same #13 as Archer, often looked just like him but only bigger. The larger issue here is likely the blocking or blocking schemes deployed by Danny Smith. I’ll give Jones another week but as of right now, I’ll eat crow on shipping Archer out.

Martavis Bryant was on the field for less than half of the Steelers’ offensive snaps Sunday. Darrius Heyward-Bey saw an increase in his snaps. The only thing I can attribute this to is run blocking. Not having a guy like Bryant on the field more often is a sin in my book. How many other guys are a threat to score every time they touch the ball?

Tweet of the Day is AB giving some veterans some much deserved love.

I really like what rookie Bud Dupree is doing so far. One play in particular that showed his growth was in the first quarter when the Raiders had the ball at their own two-yard line on first down. Dupree was down inside and as Derek Carr barked the signals, Dupree could see what was happening. He immediately flexed himself to the outside and sure enough Carr rolled that way in his own end zone. Dupree was able to keep his outside shoulder free and force the play to the sideline where Carr eventually threw an incomplete pass. Had he not taken away the edge Carr would have had more time to throw. Nice play from the rook.

I’m still trying to figure out that little dance Marcus Gilbert was doing with Roethlisberger following a TD pass. It was funny let’s put it that way.

Have to feel good for rookie tight end Jesse James who collected his first career touchdown Sunday. Remember the disastrous start he had in the preseason?
