Good Thursday to you fine Steelers’ Fans out there!
Pittsburgh Steelers’ linebacker James Harrison is not at the team’s “mandatory” mini-camp this week and this is 100% nothing to worry about. The 39-year old Harrison knows everything he needs to know right now and with him absent it gives the younger guys more opportunities anyway. Sure, I get the “he could be teaching them things” argument but he’s already done a lot of that and there’s plenty of more time to do it as well. While I don’t find Le’Veon Bell’s absence all that alarming either, Deebo’s no-show is way less of a concern.
One particular absence that is of slight concern is that of Stephon Tuitt. While he had offseason hand surgery and did attend OTAs in a ‘teaching role’ it appears that Tuitt wants a new contract a little more than we first thought.
We spent some time on Tuitt last night on the latest edition of the Steel City Blitz Podcast presented by 26shirts.com/Pittsburgh. Give it a listen!
Steelers’ Defensive Backs Coach Carnell Lake said if Senquez Golson is going to make the roster then it will be mainly as a Special Teams’ player. If that’s true then either Golson isn’t 100% healthy or he isn’t nearly as good as a lot of guys in front of him. I’m not buying this. If he’s on the roster I expect him to see a lot of snaps on defense.
Tweet (Instagram) of the Day… Deebo will be just fine. This is from this morning.

T.J. Watt officially signed his deal yesterday meaning all 2017 draft picks are now under contract. This is so much nicer than the old days where rookies held out well into training camp.
Running Back Brandon Brown-Dukes is back with the Steelers. I swear he must have racked up some serious frequent flyer miles just in and out of the Steel City alone.
A coach of the Baltimore Ravens compared Jeremy Maclin to Antonio Brown. Excuse me while I spit my coffee out.
We are selling tees with the late Mr. Rooney in mind. We will donate half of the proceeds to the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Here’s the link to design one. Here’s the link to design two.
Have a terrific Thursday Steeler Nation!
