It’s Friday, but a somber one in the Burgh. The Pens couldn’t seal the deal last night so on to game six we go. As much as I want the Pens to win the Cup at home, winning the Cup period is what matters regardless of where you do it.
Yesterday I wrote about the NFL’s new policy about coaches being on the field. It’s the new “Joey Porter Rule.” However, Chris reminded me that this is the second Joey Porter Rule and I had totally forgotten. Remember when Peezy was kicked out the Cleveland game for fighting BEFORE the game even started? The NFL put in a rule where players could not cross the 50-yard line which he did. He might be the first guy to have two rules named after him.
To close the book on the latest Brandon Boykin situation, let me reiterate what we’ve been saying all along. He was never the second coming of Mel Blount or Rod Woodson. He was a proven NFL cornerback who we at SCB felt needed to be on the field more. That is all.
Way too early reminder… I’ll be on Trib-Live Radio at 1pm Eastern one week from today live from the studio in Pittsburgh with Josh Taylor. Very excited about it. First time I’ve been “live in studio” as opposed to “live and on the other line.”
Tweet of the Day… What a crew here!

Huge thanks to everyone who replied or “liked” my tweets about my son graduating from fifth grade yesterday. Twitter can be an cruel, nasty place sometimes but it can also be pretty damn cool too. Thank you. #Autism
There’s a lot of hype around Steelers’ tight end Jesse James as he enters his second year. If you recall the poor kid had a dubious start in the preseason where he dropped a sure TD pass and had a fumble. I agree that he could become a huge attribute in two tight end sets because everyone else will be the focal points of the defense but I’m not ready to anoint him a 6 to 8 TD guy this season as I’ve seen some speculate.
Here are the Training Camp Specifics for the Steelers in 2016.
Have an amazing weekend Steeler Nation!
