SCB Quick Hitters: The “Watt TV” Edition

Good Tuesday to you Steelers’ Fans!

If you missed the tweet below last night then let me get you up to date… Steelers’ linebacker T.J. Watt is joining his brothers J.J. (Texans) and Derek (LAC) as hosts of a new television show called “Ultimate Tag.” The show is scheduled for 2020 and is based on the childhood game of the same name. This isn’t your ordinary game of ‘tag’ though. It’s expected to draw in high-level athletes who must also get through some crazy obstacles while avoiding the person who is “it.” No word yet on just how much each brother is involved with hosting and producing but we are told that they will each have a visible role in the show which will air on FOX.

Tweet of the Day… The announcement of “Ultimate Tag”

I am very excited to announce the opening of our official “Steel City Blitz Store.” In conjunction with DSGN Tree, we are offering some really cool options for t-shirts ranging from those with our logo to some original designs celebrating the Steelers, individual players and the city! Please consider checking it out by clicking on the link right here!

The Steelers ended up releasing five players and replacing them with five players they liked from their Rookie Mini-Camp. The two most notable departures are QB Brogan Roback and OLB Keion Adams. A former seventh round pick from Western Michigan, Adams struggled with some injuries and those are likely the main reasons why he’s been let go. Unable to crack the upper echelon of the OLB depth chart, Adams was just never going to see the field in Pittsburgh. Good luck to him going forward. A final note on Adams from our Ben Anderson… The Steelers gave Adams a $21,000 raise in week 17 in an effort to keep him from signing with another team. That’s peanuts but NFL standards but to turn around and release him this soon is a bit surprising.

Phase Three of the OTAs begins a week from today and will culminate in the team’s official Mini-Camp June 11th, 12th and 13th. This will also  serve as the first time the rookies get to be on the field with the veterans which always creates some good soundbites.

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
