Patrick Queen Plugs a Serious Hole for the Steelers

According to Adam Schefter and numerous other outlets, the Steelers will sign former Baltimore Ravens’ linebacker Patrick Queen to a free agent deal. Queen told ESPN’s Marcus Spears the deal is worth $41 million over three years. At this time I’m uncertain on the amount of guaranteed money.

With Cole Holcomb and Kwon Alexander (currently a free agent) both recovering from significant injuries, the need for linebacking help was paramount. Mark Robinson hasn’t taken the step forward that many hoped he would and Elandon Roberts can’t do it all on his own.

Queen comes off a season in which he recorded 133 combined tackles and more than 80 solo tackles. He’s also incredibly durable. He hasn’t missed a game in three seasons and only one total in his entire four-year career. His presence is an immediate upgrade for the Steelers’ LB position but also makes this entire defense better in an increasingly competitive AFC North.

I tend to believe Omar Khan isn’t done adding to the position either.
