It’s close to that time to make some decisions with your fantasy football teams. Some are easy, some are tough. To help with some tough decisions, I’ve put together an advice column which spells out who I would start and sit for this week’s games. This is for a basic 10-team league and if there are PPR implications, I spell that out. I know circumstances like match-ups and injuries paint a better picture and each team is different. Hopefully this helps you for this week and ultimately your road to the championship. Good luck!
Start
TJ Yeldon, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars – The Chiefs are 31st in the NFL against fantasy running backs. Yeldon has been effective stepping in for Leonard Fournette thus far and should most definitely continue.
Kenny Golladay, WR, Detroit Lions – Golladay has been extremely solid thus far and will look to continue that success against the Patriots. The Lions are a pass-first offense and should be passing a ton coming from behind. Golladay will have a great match-up against the Pats who are 22nd in fantasy against wide receivers.
Calvin Ridley, WR, Atlanta Falcons – The Steelers haven’t stopped wide receivers yet, ranking 30th against them thus far. Ridley should be able to put up a great game in a shoot out.
roto experts
Matt Breida, RB, San Francisco 49ers – Breida should be good to go against the Cardinals, who are dead last against fantasy running backs.
Sit
Russell Wilson, QB, Seattle Seahawks – Wilson has been disappointing thus far and is now facing a very good Rams passs defense. The pressure alone may bury Wilson.
field gulls
LeSean McCoy, RB, Buffalo Bills – McCoy has been abysmal and should be benched until he proves he is worthy of at least a FLEX spot. Going against the 4th best run defense in the NFL doesn’t help, either.
Baker Mayfield, QB, Cleveland Browns – If you picked up Mayfield off of waivers to save your team, this is a week to stream a quarterback and bench Baker. The Ravens are a a stout defense, 3rd against quarterbacks.
Latavius Murray, RB, Minnesota Vikings – Yes, Murray is starting this game. but unless you are desperate, I would fade Murray. The Eagles are phenominal against the run, 2nd against fantasy running backs. The Eagles pass defense is bad, so expect a pass-heavy game from the Vikings.
Sleepers
Blake Bortles, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars – The Chiefs pass defense is bottom four against fantasy quarterbacks. Bortles is a great streaming option and has been a top 12 fantasy quarterback thus far.
Aaron Jones, RB, Green Bay Packers – The Packers should let Jones loose this week against a terrible run defense in Detroit. The Lions are very good against the pass and the Packers may be down some receivers, or they’ll play unhealthy.
washington post
Taywan Taylor, WR, Tennessee Titans – Taylor has commanded a ton of volume, especially in the red zone. He is a high risk, high reward player, but could have a great game against the Bills.
Dede Westbrook, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars – I mentioned Bortles as a sleeper, but I think his favorite target will be Westbrook, who will be able to feast on a forgiving Chiefs pass defense.
