ESPN Analyst Continues to Push Fields to the Steelers

Is it really so difficult to see? Or is just that television’s talking heads have nothing better to say? ESPN’s Dan Graziano continues tell us why the Pittsburgh Steelers need to trade for Chicago’s Justin Fields yet he seems to forget that whole thing about turnovers.

Graziano claims that adding Fields to the Steelers’ offense will make it “scarier.” He’s absolutely right! It would be scarier because the ball would be turned over at a rate that would scare any fan right out of their seat! In 40 career games Fields has turned the ball over 68 times (30 INT and 38 FMB).

This is yet another example of how the national media doesn’t pay attention to details. Mike Tomlin doesn’t want a quarterback that turns the ball over, just ask Kenny Pickett. Do I have some level of confidence that Tomlin and Arthur Smith could clean up some of his turnover issues? I do, but to what extent and what if they can’t? Now you’ve locked yourself in for over $20 million and you’ve definitely put an end to any chance that Pickett could bounce back.

There’s no question that Fields would bring greater athleticism and a more dynamic variable to the Steelers’ offense but between the turnovers and the money there’s just too much uncertainty here.
