Good Monday to you Steelers’ Fans.
I suppose that nothing I’m about to say will surprise you but rather, it may just reinforce what you already know. Members of Steelers Nation really are everywhere. Sure, we’ve all seen the photo of the Air Force pilot with his Terrible Towel thousands of feet above the Earth or the fan who has climbed a mountain with his Terrible Towel in hand. But what I’m getting at today are those other unique places where Steelers’ fans exist. Yesterday I was driving along I-80 in Northeastern Indiana. With little traffic I did a little ‘sight-seeing’ if you will and while it’s never uncommon to see a Steelers’ decal or bumper sticker on another vehicle, what I did see was pretty cool. Over to my left was a barn alongside the westbound lane. It looked like any other old barn or garage we’ve all seen a million times but displayed proudly on the side of it was a “You’re in Steelers Country” banner. Anyone else get that warm, fuzzy feeling when you see something like that? Then last summer I was on the Indian River in Northern Michigan (hold your right hand up palm facing you. Just below the top of your middle finger is where I’m talking about). We were motoring along at that pace where your beer consumption seems to move faster than the boat you’re on. We passed one boat after another and eventually came across these four small cabins in the middle of nowhere. Like a moth to the flame I immediately saw the Steelers’ flag proudly flying on the front of one of the cabins. I yelled “Here We Go!” to the man in front of the cabin and he looked up and yelled, “Here We Go!” in return. Like I said, we already know we are “everywhere” but a reminder now and then is nice isn’t it?

Congratulations to Steelers’ safety Sean Davis who was engaged over the weekend. While he’s been incredibly durable and better than anything else the Steelers have had, perhaps his pending nuptials will bring an increase in splash plays too.
It’s always interesting to see the social media of the Steelers’ players this time of year. I enjoy the different vacation locales, the different activities and of course the guys who are still grinding through conditioning, weights… you name it.
Donte Moncrief will be an interesting case study in just how much a quarterback plays into a wide receiver’s success. Of course the same will likely be said of Antonio Brown. Moncrief of course had to deal with Blake Bortles. AB will now have to deal with Derek Carr. There are other factors at play like other offensive weapons but I’d be surprised if the numbers of both guys don’t reflect their new QB situations.
Have a great day Steeler Nation!
