Good Friday to you Steelers’ Fans.
I come to you today with news that even I find to be a bit hard to swallow. According to numerous sources the Steelers will likely use Artie Burns and Cam Sutton a lot on Sunday. Mike Hilton will be getting a demotion. Let me start with Burns. No one on this roster has seen his star rise and fall faster than Burns. His confidence diminished as rapidly as his game did and to think Mike Tomlin and Keith Butler are going to rely on him against the best quarterback of this generation is disturbing. Sutton has seen the field sparingly and reportedly had some personal issues he was dealing with. I admit Hilton has had some struggles lately but I just don’t understand these decisions. If the team was out of the postseason hunt I would get it but there’s still a lot to play for here.
Former Steeler Shaun Suisham has been in Pittsburgh helping Chris Boswell. Fellow kicker Kai Forbath has also been getting his crack to supplant Boswell but it sounds like Tomlin will stick with his guy for now.
Tweet of the Day… This is incredibly accurate.
Even this won't stop people from still calling them the San Diego Chargers. #TNF

Speaking of Suisham, I am hoping he is there to also audition for a future as the Special Teams Coach. You didn’t hear that from me though…

C Maurkice Pouncey (Coach’s Decision) – Full
OT Marcus Gilbert (Knee) – DNP

TE Dwayne Allen (Knee) – Full
CB Stephon Gilmore (Ankle) – Full
Despite numerous reports that James Conner was seen walking through the locker room without a noticeable limp I’ll still be surprised if he gets a helmet Sunday. Today’s practice will determine that… Broken record but I still don’t understand why this team hasn’t put Marcus Gilbert on IR.
If you didn’t see the video of Stephen A. Smith yesterday you need to. It was downright embarrassing. He said he was looking forward to seeing Hunter Henry against Derrick Johnson in last night’s KC-LAC game. Henry has been out all year and Johnson hasn’t played a snap for anyone in 2018. He’ll make up some excuse I’m sure but it was incredibly lazy journalism and further proof that these “experts” rarely know what they’re speaking about.
I really think the Steelers find a way to keep this game close. I haven’t decided on an outcome yet but I sense the team is ready to put up or shut up. Either way we’ll find out when this one ends Sunday evening. The narratives will be exhausting.
Have a good weekend Steeler Nation!
