Hey Steelers Fans. Welcome to Tuesday.
The Kickoff
Fresh off of our 82-point shootout in Cincinnati, next week’s opponent, the Cleveland Browns, put up over 500 yards of offense. Jameis Winston threw for 497 yards but also threw two pick-sixes in the 41-32 loss to Denver. The Browns are now 3-9 and will be playing for nothing more than pride Sunday in Pittsburgh. As of right now, the weather is not scheduled to be a factor. 40 degrees and light winds under some sunshine at kickoff. I do not expect the Browns to roll over and neither should the Steelers. While I’m sure we’d all like to see 44 points on the board again, I don’t think any of us want to see the defense get torched like they did in Cincy. With the remaining schedule looking as it does, getting a win Sunday is HUGE in my opinion.
Tomlin Tuesday
The players are off today as is the norm and that also means Mike Tomlin will hold his weekly press conference. I’m curious to hear his thoughts on George Pickens, Joey Porter, Jr and why Mike Williams isn’t playing much among other things. It would also be nice to hear his thoughts on ‘Hard Knocks’ so far too…

I shared some thoughts last night about the uptick in discussions of a new deal for Russell Wilson. The QB market has changed a lot since Ben Roethlisberger got his last deal but for me, I don’t think any decisions should be made until this season ends.
Ben Skowronek
The last two games have seen Arthur Smith use Connor Heyward a sizeable amount and Ben Skowronek as well. You can go ahead and put me on ‘Team Skowronek.’ I’m not suggesting that Heyward doesn’t give everything he’s got but Skowronek is a much better blocker as a receiver. I would not be surprised to see him utilized more as an H-back as well.

The NFL has suspended Azeez Al-Shaair three games for his hit on Jags’ QB Trevor Lawrence. I have to believe his previous incidents weighed in… Diontae Johnson is not having a good time in Baltimore. He’s hardly playing and there are rumors he could be released… This MLB idea of a ‘golden at-bat’ is ridiculous. Might as well put clown’s mouths on Augusta National too… I think Alabama is a very good team but if they make the CFP how much of that is on the Saban years? Two of their three losses were to 6-6 teams… Jon Runyan handing out punishment for dirty play might be the most ironic thing ever… What in the Hell happened to Fall? I swear it was 60 degrees a few minutes ago now it won’t stop snowing!
