The time is soon approaching. The NFL is about to be turned upside down after this week. What does this mean for the Pittsburgh Steelers? This is our last word before we head into madness in the NFL.

The Good

The Steelers seem to have all the money in the world currently. They rank fifth in the NFL in cap space ($63 million). Spending money should not be an issue when it comes to signing a free agent this week. It also should not be an issue re-signing key players like your quarterback and running back. The first good area surrounding the Steelers has to be their money they are capable of giving their players.

Another good area for the Steelers is their variety of players they can sign and re-sign. There is still all-star, pro bowl caliber talent on the table in the free agency market. With the previously mentioned amount of money they are capable of spending, they have their plate full to pick from when looking at the talent on the table. Not only the talent on the table, but they have great talent already on the team. Players like Justin Fields, Russell Wilson, and Najee Harris will find a new team almost immediately once they touch the free agency market. You have elite level of talent to choose from in the free agency market and on your team, the ball is in your court Pittsburgh.

The Bad

The bad is just what we left off with, the ball is in their court. It’s up to the front office to do something with it. Have they at all? No. The only news coming out of the Pittsburgh Steelers is restructuring a contract concerning a player that did not play a single snap last season. Teams like the Commanders, Chiefs, Raiders, and Ravens have made notable moves before free agency even started. The importance of this is that they are making it known they are willing to negotiate with their players and get a deal done. This is the most important aspect surrounding a team during this point of the offseason.

So, Do Something!

We understand it’s still a little early, but time is running out quickly. The legal contract tampering starts tomorrow, but there has been nothing from the Steelers front office, nothing. Daily rumors have been surrounding this team every single day. Fans are starting to get restless because they see this story every year, a late push at a player and hoping it sticks. It is not going to work this offseason with the amount of talent and raised cap.

All in All

As fans, we love to think we can be a coach or a part of the front office for our team. We can’t. A whole lot of behind the scenes stuff goes on in the front office that we can only imagine. But, the holes in the team are more than evident. The Steelers don’t have a QB or a running back right now. What high caliber, pro bowl talent wants to sign with a team like that? They need to start at QB, sign or re-sign one now so you can get the attention of an all-star talent in free agency.

You tell your fans, “big changes” are going to happen. Show them.
