American Ninja Warrior City Finalists Power Rankings

The Tenth season of American Ninja Warrior has given us some great moments and heart-warming stories so far during the City Qualifiers. Athletes competed in Dallas, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, and Philadelphia for the chance to earn a spot in the City Finals. Over 600 men and women took part in the City Qualifiers this season and 195 have made it to the next stage – the City Finals. The City Finals courses take place in the same cities as the qualifiers with an extended course, adding 4 additional (and much more difficult) obstacles onto the 6 from the qualifiers. Notoriously, it has been more difficult to complete a City Finals course than it has been to complete the first stage of the National Finals course in Las Vegas. The Top 15 finishers (and top 2 women if they finish outside the top 15) from each of the six cities will advance to the National Finals.

Before this season began, I used my ninja scoring metric to rank the American Ninja Warrior competitors based on their past results. I summarized the Top 200 in four posts: Top 50, 51-100, 101-150, 151-200. Of those 200, 90 did not compete this season (or I could not find results for them), most notably Geoff Britten who is the only ninja to complete all 6 courses in a season and has said he will return for Season 11. Additionally, a handful of athletes competed on this past season of Ninja vs Ninja but did not take part in American Ninja Warrior including JoJo  Bynum, Paul Kasemir, the Brazi Bros Alexio and Lucas Gomes, Jackson Meyer, Ben Melick, Alan Connealy and Dr. Noah Kaufman.

Of those that were ranked in the Top 200 and did compete this season, 24 did not advance to the City Finals. Notably, JJ Woods (preseason #17), Jody Avila (#44), Dan Yager (#52), Lorin Ball (#62), Brandon Mears (#69), Jonathan Horton (#101), Sam Sann (#104), Natalie Duran (#135), and Bree Widener (#174) did not qualify for the City Finals. In total, 78 rookies qualified for the City Finals this year. Of the 195 athletes remaining, 70 of them completed all 6 obstacles in the City Qualifier courses.

Using the same ninja points ranking scale that was detailed in the preseason posts, here is a look at how the 195 remaining ninjas stack up heading into the City Finals. As a reminder, the standings are based purely on past performance and are not predictive of future success. American Ninja Warrior never ceases to surprise us with new and challenging obstacles that could take out even some of the best ninjas.
