From the 1970s until today, the Steelers’ roster has been full of talented and athletic players. With that in mind, putting together a list of the best players of all time is a challenging job. With the 2023 season underway, it has only highlighted the new and talented young players on the team today, many of whom deserve a spot on the list. In no particular order, here are the five best players throughout history, including players today.

1. T.J. Watt

Linebacker T.J. Watt is one of the younger players on the list. However, that doesn’t make him less talented. Weighing 252 lbs, he has the frame needed to play against the best ones in the league. Watt tackles well but has the physique to make for a pro pass rusher. While injuries could become a problem, he still has years ahead where we might see him reach his full potential as an all-rounder star defensive end.

It is good to have stable players like T.J. Watt during difficult times. Especially as a bettor, it is always good to have players you can always count on. Watt, players have a solid foundation for bringing home a payout—just be sure to do your research beforehand.

2. Joe Greene

Few players have had the same impact as “Mean” Joe Greene. Hailing from the 1970s, he was a number one star. The 275-pounder was a superstar talent, but he also never shied away from showing great determination to play. During his peak, he dominated practically any game he played in. Not only was he a great player, but also a great leader, which is why he could boast of a 91-game streak, only to be stopped by an injury in 1975.

3. Terry Bradshaw

While Terry Bradshaw might not be the most successful quarterback in history, he had an impeccable streak of always getting back in the fourth quarter of a game. Furthermore, he does have some impressive records on his back. Bradshaw is the only starting quarterback who has managed to win back-to-back Super Bowls twice. Moreover, he had a history of 9 touchdown passes in the Super Bowl.

The blonde bomber was known for always being up for a challenge, which defined his career in many ways. As he turned 75 in 2023, it is difficult not to reflect on his impressive career.

4. Minkah Fitzpatrick

At just 26 years old, no doubt Minkah Fitzpatrick is at his best right now. He has been named one of the best NFL playmakers in his position, with stats of 122 solo tackles and 178 combined tackles. Fitzpatrick is a talented defensive back who is very consistent in his play. His skills follow his passion for playing, as he is known for always having a well-rounded game. In the 2022 season, he finished off with 96 total tackles, six interceptions and eleven passes, which inevitably gained him the spot as a first-team All-Pro.

5. Franco Harris

Most Steelers fans can’t mention Franco Harris without also mentioning ‘The Immaculate Reception.’ The game was one of the most outstanding plays in NFL history. The game against the Oakland Raiders became legendary as Terry Bradshaw threw a pass at John Fuqua with 22 seconds left of the game. He helped the team get to their first playoff win with this pass and put the Steelers on the list of the most memorable moments in American football history.

Throughout his career, he could boast of running more than 12,000 yards and being a great player who stands out among the others.
