Good Wednesday to you Steelers fans.
JuJu Smith-Schuster has become one of the most polarizing players in recent Steelers’ history. Some a have nothing but love for the guy while others are tired of him and can’t to see him go. The fact is that it’s going to be very difficult to sign him. At minimum he’s looking at a deal of around four years and $60 million. Pittsburgh already knows that they’ll have to back up the Brinks truck for T.J. Watt and Minkah Fitzpatrick so where that money for JuJu comes from is hard to tell. It’s possible of course the Steelers could be looking at cutting even more guys than we originally think but I’m not so sure. The rumor around the league is that the salary cap may not be quite as dire as believed so maybe that would help too. With Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool entrenched, perhaps the need for Smith-Schuster has waned. But then again, his effort and performance on Sunday was exactly why fans love him. He’s tough, gritty and makes plays…. He will only produce more as the other guys get better and draw attention. The problem is the cost.
Condolences
Former Steelers fullback Tim Lester passed away. He played for the Black and Gold from 1995 thru 1988. He was referred to often as “The Bus Driver” because he was the lead blocker for Jerome “The Bus” Bettis. He reportedly passed away due to complications from Covid at 52.
Tomlin Presser
Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin will deliver his final remarks on the 2020 season today at Noon. I would not expect to hear anything overly insightful. He rarely announces any news about coaching changes or the future of players at these things. I hope I’m wrong but I’ve seen this movie a few times as they say…
Tweet of the Day… Talk about getting EXACTLY what you ask for….
"WTF Bro?" @colin_dunlap asked Steelers fans what they would ask Mike Tomlin if they were at today's final press conference and the responses were priceless. https://t.co/TpvE7dKyT5

The Podcast
Tonight we’ll be recording the final podcast of the 2020 NFL Season and we’ll have a lot to discuss. We will certainly focus on where things went so wrong for the Steelers but we’ll give our thoughts and predictions on what is to come for the Black and Gold during this most crucial offseason. The Podcast is presented by DEK Roofing Inc of South Florida. You won’t want to miss this episode.
Transaction
The Steelers released running back Trey Edmunds yesterday. The brother of Steelers’ defensive back Terrell Edmunds, Trey has bounced back and forth from the practice squad to the active squad to the IR during his time in Pittsburgh. While possible he could be brought back, I tend to think this is the end of the road for him here.
