Week 1 is in the books for the Steelers as they beat the rival Cleveland Browns, 30-27. While everything went right for Pittsburgh in the first half, I know I wasn’t the only one with those “yeah but” thoughts…those “will they shut it down in the second half” worries. You know what I’m talking about, the tendency for the offense to go into a shell and just try to run out the clock instead and the defense to just totally go to sleep.
As it turns out, that’s exactly what happened. Ben summarized it after the game as “we got away from some things we were doing in the first half”. Whatever the reason, they nearly lost in week after having a 24 point lead. Credit the Browns for not giving up and making sure that the heart attack Steelers earned every bit of the precious few yds they gained in the second half.
So, having said that…what did you think the outcome was going to be once the Browns started mounting a comeback and ultimately tied up the game in the 4th?

I wasn’t worried until the failed 3rd and 1 conversion… The Blount draw play. After that I thought the game was over.
