Hey Steelers Fans. Welcome to Tuesday.

The Kickoff

With the Miami Dolphins releasing several players yesterday, one of the tried and true traditions of being a Pittsburgh Steelers’ fans is once again upon us. The tradition I’m speaking of is this. When a player is released from one team, Steelers’ fans inevitably start clamoring for said player to come to the Steel City. Take for example Tyreek Hill. Now a free agent after yesterday’s release, numbers of Steelers’ fans have already suggested the team sign him. Hill will be 32 in about two weeks. He played in just four games last year and despite playing all 17 in 2024, his numbers declined. There are also some legal issues hounding Hill as well. I don’t see the Steelers being interested at all but that won’t stop fans from trying to make it happen. In other words, let the tradition of wanting everyone who is a free agent begin!

The Podcast

It’s a big week here as the SCB Steelers Podcast presented by DEK Roofing Inc hosts the annual “Blitzies” Awards. This is our year end program in which we hand out a number of awards to top performers, not-so-top performers and a variety of other interesting accolades. We’ll update the latest Steelers’ news as well, but this is always a fun show. Stop by our YouTube channel!

Re-Focus

As the 2025 season unfolded, it was apparent the organization messed up by not adding a true number two wide receiver. One guy who I knew would be entering free agency this year was Indy’s Alec Pierce. I still like what he does a lot, but so do the Colts. It sounds more and more like they will try to bring him back while cutting Michael Pittman, Jr and his $24 million salary. Therefore, with that being the the case, I wouldn’t mind Pittman, Jr at all in Pittsburgh opposite D.K. Metcalf.

In the Least Shocking News of the Day…

In Defense Of…

Yesterday I wrote about getting back to what matters yet former Steelers continue to chime in on Joey Porter’s comments from last week regarding Ben Roethlisberger. James Harrison gave some very nice comments and David DeCastro also came to his quarterback’s defense. That’s as far as I’m going with this.

Random Reads

Now that the Dolphins have started releasing players, I suspect we will see more teams follow suit. Maybe as early as today… Honestly? I won’t be surprised to see Patrick Queen cut. They would save over $13 million in cap space while adding about $3 million in dead money. I appreciate Queen’s effort every week but there are just too many missed tackles… The Big Ten is proposing a 24-team playoff while eliminating the conference title games. I think this is going to happen at some point. The conference championship games are largely meaningless in the current system so why play them? Money but I digress… Very curious to see what the Steelers do with Isaac Seumalo. The veteran guard is a free agent and is still above average but do they think they can get better there while paying less? Stay tuned… Getting ready to publish our first Draft Preview and I’m looking at the QBs. This is such an unimpressive group…
