As the continuous circus of the quarterback position continues, news is now coming out that Russell Wilson is visiting options elsewhere. It is being reported that Wilson will visit with Cleveland and New York throughout the rest of this week. New York should come as no surprise as they were an available destination for Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers. But Cleveland?

Yes, Cleveland. Russell Wilson had enough of the back and forth rumors, and took control of his own future. Cleveland recently acquired former Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett in a trade with the Eagles. Now, Cleveland is becoming a destination for two former Pittsburgh quarterbacks. This comes as a surprise to many with the Browns having the second pick in the upcoming draft, with many decent young quarterbacks to choose from.

Wake-Up Call

Now is the time to do something. Your starting quarterback is visiting other destinations and you are stuck with Skylar Thompson under contract. If the front office is waiting for Aaron Rodgers to make his decision, they are doing this entirely wrong. A deadline should have been put on this from the beginning. You don’t want to end up losing both options and going to last resorts, like Joe Flacco.

This has been a terrible look on the front office and just keeps getting worse. You can hate the fact the Steelers are trying to get 41 year old Aaron Rodgers, but the blame should ultimately fall on the front office. It’s not good that it’s taking this long to acquire a quarterback with continuous drama backing him up. Chop it all and get a quarterback in the first round at this point.
