First news coming out of the quarterback position for the Pittsburgh Steelers: Justin Fields has been signed by the New York Jets. The contract includes $40 million for two years, $30 million guaranteed. A solid amount of money for a quarterback who used his skills to improve his value.

The rumors of the Jets acquiring Fields have been swirling for months. It was known early in the offseason that the team was parting ways with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.  They stayed aggressive towards Justin Fields, and ultimately signed him. His stellar performance, combined with impressive stats he put up in his six games played with the Steelers, showed enough promise for him to land a starting spot on the Jets.

He now joins his former Ohio State teammate, Garrett Wilson on a team looking to bounce back from a poor 2024 season. This could quite frankly turn out to be a huge turning point in Fields’ career. On the flip side, a blunder from the Steelers.

Meaning For The Steelers

One thing is now certain, the Steelers will find themselves facing their former quarterback in the coming 2025 season as they play against the Jets in New York. Cross your fingers he isn’t looking for an insane revenge game.

Also, they are doing something! Finally, we see action coming out of Pittsburgh (concerning the quarterback position). But that action is losing one of your players. Sam Darnold has been signed with the Seahawks and now you lose Justin Fields. Options are quickly becoming scarce for the Steelers. Your top options? Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers. Look for one of these guys to be the next starting quarterback for the team.

One thing is for sure, the Steelers heard our word and finally woke up. We will soon find our quarterback, stay tuned Steelers fans.
