Hey Steelers Fans. Welcome to Monday.

The Kickoff

The Seattle Seahawks are your Super Bowl LX Champions which means the Pittsburgh Steelers remain tied with the New England Patriots with six Lombardi Trophies. That aside, I found it interesting how many teams – including the Steelers – posted content after the game about the “2026 season starting now.” I couldn’t disagree more. The next season always begins the day after the previous one ends for your team. Like it or not that’s how things work. Mike McCarthy has been assembling his staff, prospects are being scouted and free agents are being vetted. In other words, the 2026 season has been underway for most teams for quite some time now.

Super Bowl Takeaways

Defense matters. Or does it? There are two types of football in the NFL. Regular season football where offense reigns and officials throw a ton of flags and then there’s the postseason. Defenses are allowed to get away with a lot more and officials largely swallow their whistles – sorry Buffalo. The Seattle front was relentless and as bad as the Patriots’ O-Line was, a lot of that was on Drake Maye. Outside of maybe two throws, he was awful and his pocket presence was atrocious. They also suffered from an inability to get the running game going too. Meanwhile, the Seattle running game was the difference. Take away Kenneth Walker III and we may have had the worst Super Bowl ever played.

What the Hell is This?

I’ve always appreciated the candor and honesty of Cam Heyward during his time in Pittsburgh but I’m a little confused by this. Is he suggesting that he’s closing the book on his career?
