Predicting Le’Veon Bell and LaGarette Blount’s Punishments

by Steelbydesign

As most Steelers fans are now aware, the newly formed “LeBackfield” are a couple of bone heads.

Unfortunately we can probably expect some sort of punishment coming for both running backs.

There’s been some speculation as to whether the team would swiftly punish the two the way they once did with Santonio Holmes.

I think that the Steelers were really already sick of Santonio’s antics by that point. It also creates an potentially bad situation with the player’s association.

I don’t think the team will suspend either back. If anything they possibly sit them both for the remaining two pre-season games and get a stern talking to.

So the question becomes when and how long will they be suspended by the NFL?

The latest, similar incident was to Kansas City Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe. Bowe was cited for marijuana posession and speeding on November 10th, 2013. He will serve a 1 game suspension to start this season on September 7th.

Bowe even has a previous suspension for a testing positive for a banned substance.

I can’t imagine either Bell or Blount getting more than one game. I’d bet on week 1 of 2015 which is nice because the Steelers will know in camp they need a 1 week starter.

There is a small chance it happens this season I guess, but I definitely expect it in 2015.

In the grand scheme of things this isn’t a huge deal. My hope is that Le’Veon Bell is scared straight by this and goes on to have a great career and nobody remembers this ever happened.
