SCB Steelers Training Camp Tidbits Day Fourteen

by Steeldad

Welcome to the new Steel City Blitz Steelers Training Camp Tidbits presented by Taps N’At! This is a brand new feature this year and every single day from now until the end of Camp you’ll see tidbits right here. Our goal is simple; provide you with everything we are seeing, hearing and learning from St. Vincent College in Latrobe.

If you’re going….

Steelers Practice for Saturday 8/11: 255pm Eastern

Latrobe Weather for Saturday 8/11: Scattered T-Storms High of 79

Latest on the Injury Front: Antonio Brown, according to several sources but not the Steelers as I type this, has a hip flexor and should return to practice following the Eagles game. He was there today and dressed for practice but only did a few individual things. Besides AB, T.J. Watt, Vance McDonald and JuJu Smith-Schuster will also be in civilian clothes with their respective injuries which are not currently considered serious. JuJu did in fact practice today.

There was a definite hush over the crowd when Maurkice Pouncey came up hobbling during today’s practice. Good news though, he appears to be OK. This actually raised an interesting question which was immediately answered. With backup center B.J. Finney already filling in for the injured Ramon Foster, who was going to back up Pouncey? In this particular case Finney slid over to center and Matt Feiler filled in at guard.

From today: Besides Watt not practicing today, Keion Adams and Bud Dupree did not participate either according to Joe Rutter of the Trib. That’s a lot of outside backers not practicing.

Mike Tomlin said in his press conference that “Mason Rudolph has done a good job. but he hasn’t been hit yet…”

The offense picked up a rare win in “seven shots” today winning 4-3. JuJu was heavily featured during the drill scoring three straight times.

The ‘dollar’ package is clearly in the plans for the Steelers. They’ve been trying it way too much for it not to happen. This is seven DBs on the field at one time and with the amount of guys they have in the secondary right now, why not?

Please make sure you stop in and say “hello” to our friends at Taps N’At just down the road from Camp. Great beer, great food, a great time!
