Good Thursday to you Steelers’ Fans!
Each week I obviously want you to listen to the Steel City Blitz Steelers Podcast presented by 26shirts.com/Pittsburgh because I think it’s an excellent product. But not all shows are created equal. Last night we were joined by former LA Rams’ QB Jim Everett who very gracious to take a few minutes to chat with us. He’s not a former Steeler but you’ll hear his excitement about the Black and Gold during the show. The main reason I had him was to have him talk about the dynamics between a veteran QB and a rookie one. This is obviously something the Steelers are and will be dealing with in 2018. I encourage you to give it a listen!
At the end of the podcast we discussed the comparison between the now departed Martavis Bryant and the rookie James Washington. I think it’s natural for people to start their comparison with the measureables. These guys are pretty different in height and build with Bryant being taller and Washington being built more like a safety. Washington is not as fast as Bryant in terms of straight line speed but he does possess the ability to separate from the defender better than most receivers. He also catches the ball with his hands, has long arms and will be successful in contested situations. The comparisons don’t stop there though because they couldn’t be more different off the field too. At the end of the day, don’t compare who is a better “deep threat.” Compare who is the more well-rounded receiver.

Tweet of the Day #2… This is the final thing I’m going to say about the Ben Roethlisberger comments. Thanks to Mark Kaboly of The Athletic for sharing it again.
Asked Ben Roethlisberger a couple months back about why he speaks his mind so much publicly in a profession that sees so many either not answer truthfully or flat-out lie. His response …… pic.twitter.com/oW8kzqQniv
