Good Thursday to you Steelers fans.
Whenever the Tennessee Titans appear on the schedule you can guarantee someone will bring up the “Curse of the Terrible Towel.” Despite the fact that the creator of the Towel, Myron Cope swearing the Towel wasn’t really about curses or anything like that, it’s been hard to not acknowledge some things. In 2008, the Titans put a pretty good 31-14 whipping on the Steelers. As the game neared the end, Titans’ running back LenDale White (along with LB Keith Bullock) got hold of a Terrible Towel on the sidelines, threw it down and started to stomp on it with his cleats. To the victor belong the spoils I say no matter I much his actions may have pissed me off. But many Steelers’ fans believe that it was that action that saw the Titans and their Super Bowl aspirations go up in smoke. For those that can’t remember, Tennessee was the number one seed by virtue of their earlier win over Pittsburgh. After their BYE week, the Titans were stunned by the Baltimore Ravens while the Steelers beat San Diego. The Black and Gold would go to beat Baltimore and win Super Bowl XLIII. Whether all of this was due to a curse or not will never truly be known but we in the Steelers Nation will always know the truth.

Injury Report Thoughts… I think DeCastro’s availability is literally 50/50 at this point. If he practices today he has a chance…Great to see Diontae Johnson practice fully… Derek Watt is still struggling with his hamstring and I’m not not surprised. Those can be incredibly sensitive… Jonnu Smith is a huge part of the Titans’ offense and should be available but it doesn’t appear he’ll be 100%.

Bradshaw and Ben
Great piece this morning by Mark Kaboly of The Athletic on the evolution of the relationship between the two Steelers’ QBs. As a disclaimer, Bradshaw was always my favorite Steeler… I too was a QB and it’s the position I coached as well so therefore I’ve always had a love affair with both Brad and Ben. It’s been tough knowing these my two favorite Steelers didn’t always get along but things seem to be better now which is good and I hope they stay that way.
