Good Tuesday to You Steelers’ Fans!

With no more games to be played, the attention of many NFL pundits, experts and aficionados turns to the NFL Draft. From team needs to all the buzz words you hear about prospects, we have officially entered the season of hot takes. Be aware, I’m not criticizing this because we here at SCB make bold statements and have “hot takes” all the time too. It’s just that as always, it’s your job to think for yourself and cut through the copious amounts of B.S. We have already started providing you with Draft Profiles and we’ll give you our thoughts on every one of these guys. In some cases we’ll hit the nail on the head and in others we’ll swing and miss big time. Regardless, this is the season of demonstrative claims and subtle jabs at what others thing so be aware!

Sean Spence probably deserves a chance to compete for a roster spot this coming season. I say that for two reasons. First, the Steelers are super thin at inside linebacker and second, this is a guy who came off the couch and gave everything he had despite being overwhelmed in the games he played in place of Ryan Shazier. Perhaps given a full series of OTAs, mini-camps and a full training camp will allow him to be a bit more competent. He will likely come at a very low price as well.

I’m pretty sure Antonio Brown is NOT playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Tweet of the Day… If you don’t follow this account, well, you should!

US Snowboarder Chloe Kim has all the boxes checked for a huge payday. Gold Medal? Check. Cute as a button? Check? Personable? Check. US companies are lining up for endorsements.

Anyone else like to see James Harrison in the figure skating competition?

Here’s my Draft Profile of LSU RB Derrius Guice.

There is a reason the Rooney Family has been successful as owners of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Actually, there are many but one major factor in their success has been the ability to stay focused and say as little as possible. Art Rooney II gave a lot of answers that fans didn’t want to hear. They wanted to hear an owner come out firing. They wanted to hear him voice his displeasure over the lack of focus on Jacksonville… The drama that often enveloped the team all season… The poor coaching… etc. But he didn’t do that. He spoke of good things and poor things but at no time did he ever get extreme. What fans have to understand though is this; what happens in front of the media and fans isn’t always what happens behind the closed doors of the Steelers’ Front Offices. Look no further than changes to the coaching staff for example. This is what makes the Steelers a great organization. They do things inside the organization, not outside.

Have a terrific Tuesday Steeler Nation!
