SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “Sammie Coates Surgery” Edition

Happy Tuesday Steelers’ Fans!

Pittsburgh Steelers’ wide receiver Sammie Coates announced via Twitter that he had groin surgery recently. We have also learned that he had surgery on his hand as well which wasn’t surprising considering all the issues he had in 2016. Coates should be ready to go for 2017.

Speaking of Coates, why do some people go at him on Twitter? “If your hand was so bad why were you taking snaps from healthier guys?” That isn’t Coates’ call people, it’s Mike Tomlin’s and/or Todd Haley’s. Sheesh.

Former Steeler Brett Keisel “Sheared the Beard” last night for charity. Everyone from Mike Tomlin to Cam Heyward to WWE legend Shaun Michaels were involved.

Tweet (Instagram)of the Day… Da Beard had some friends helping last night.

My thoughts on the Steelers’ need for kick return help published earlier today.

Well, I have to say I’m surprised the Steelers haven’t made any coaching moves. I believe in continuity quite strongly but I also believe you have to improve in certain areas too. I suppose there is still time but with the NFL Combine just weeks away, changes may not be coming.

So far, I know of at least three teams that have made offers for Antonio Brown. Based on what I was told, none were going to pique the Steelers’ interest.

Interesting chat with Chris yesterday about drafting a QB. If you really are interested in drafting the successor to Ben Roethlisberger don’t you have to do that in the first or second round at least? There aren’t too many ‘Tom Brady’s’ out there. Landry Jones is a perfect example. As poor as this class is, the Steelers really should wait until 2018.

Some, including ESPN, have suggested Colin Kaepernick as a potential backup. The Steelers will not shy away from his “anthem kneeling” since they certainly didn’t have a problem with Michael Vick’s past. I’m curious though… What kind of conversation would Kaepernick have with Steelers’ lineman and Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva???

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
