SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “Holy Haley!” Edition

Good day to you Steelers’ Fans!

I’m sure by now you’ve seen that Steelers’ Offensive Coordinator Todd Haley was involved in a situation at Pittsburgh Area bar on New Year’s Eve. Unlike his stupid napkin message from 2013, this one involved his wife Christine. She apparently grew angry over some taunting by Steelers’ fans. The police were involved and they escorted the Haley’s out but I’m also told that Haley suffered an injury to his hip. I’ve been told everything from it’s nothing to it is keeping him from walking right now. Either way, he is not expected to miss duties as the team’s OC.

Haley was brought back (he spent a lot of time around the team when his father Dick was a scout) by Art Rooney II who stated at the time he wanted to see Ben Roethlisberger’s game “tweaked” and to a degree it was. But if you can separate yourself from the numbers, Haley’s overall time in Pittsburgh has been tumultuous. He’s had a rocky relationship with Roethlisberger and has often tried to reinvent the wheel on offense in an effort to prove he’s smarter than everyone else. Even a Super Bowl victory may not be enough to keep him around because of issues that we know about and some that we don’t.

While it has been reported that Haley may get a call from Dallas, there has been nothing official. In the case of Mike Munchak however, the Steelers have granted him permission to interview for the Arizona Head Coaching job.

Tweet of the Day… Short, sweet and completely on point.

In what can only be described as “the most Bengals’ thing ever,” Cincinnati has signed Marvin Lewis to a two-year deal to remain Head Coach. Lewis is a great guy but it’s clear to me at least that he just doesn’t have control of that team as often as he should. From a Steelers’ fan perspective? I love it!

Mike Tomlin said this week that Antonio Brown would be listed as “questionable” if there were a game this week. What that tells me is that he will not be 100% for the divisional playoff game. Doesn’t mean he won’t play and won’t play well, it just means he won’t be himself. At this point in the season though, who really is?

I have zero problem with Oakland bringing in Jon Gruden to be their head coach. But what is exactly is the point of the “Rooney Rule” then? I’ve heard several African-American coaches say that they don’t care that the job they are interviewing for is already taken. They look at it as a chance to sell themselves to someone and I think that’s a great attitude to have. Unfortunately I don’t think this was what the Rooney Rule had intended.

I’m not sure where you are reading this but chances are it’s FREEZING! Stay warm Steeler Nation!

Haley sucks and was a home boy hire from the start. Don’t care what you experts think “he sucks”. He has done more to slow this offense down than any defense could. Please take him Dallas and don’t screw around do it right now. You know some times you guys sugar coat things . Shit we should be rolling people and we struggle because of this BUFFOON. BTW it took Harrison 1 day to learn MIKE in NE stop this stupid shit that it takes years to learn this teams philosophy it’s hurting us.
