SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “Getting Past It” Edition

Good Thursday to you Steelers’ Fans!

We’ve now had more than a full day to process the fact we are going to have another summer of discontent between the Steelers and Le’Veon Bell. For us as fans, it is what it is. I know that’s a lazy narrative but I’m not sure what else to tell you. I would also tell Bell he has to get past it as well. Granted, he’s the one in the middle of it but at the same time his constant whining and passive-aggressive tweets don’t do anything for him or us. I continue to believe a long-term deal won’t get done and that means this is more than likely Bell’s last season in the Black and Gold. With each passing day I become more and more accepting of that.

Mike Tomlin, Kevin Colbert and Keith Butler were at the University of Alabama’s Pro Day yesterday. To some, this will bring declarations of “We’re drafting a Bama guy!!” To the rest of us, it’s the first of many pro day visits for the Steelers. As it is with the Combine, these are fact-finding missions with a little more personal flare. This was my take on the Steelers and drafting Bama players earlier this year.

Tweet of the Day… I’m right with ya JuJu but um… the LeBron stuff?

In case you missed it the Steelers draft picks are set. 1st, 2nd, 3rd (No 4th), two 5th, (No 6th) and two 7th.

LSU running back Derrius Guice claims that he was asked about his sexuality and if his mom “sells herself” by at least one team during his combine interviews. This is important for a couple of reasons. First, this is a guy the Steelers could very well target in this draft but bigger than that, the NFL has not learned from past mistakes in this area. I understand the need to want to know everything there is about potential picks but there have to be limits.

Bell stated last night in an Instagram chat that this year will be a “rerun of last year” and that he would miss camp but would be there for the season. It’s a LONG time between March and late July let’s put it that way.

Ian will join me tonight for the final Bracketology Podcast. I’m quite serious when I say this is what you want to listen to. He’s better than Jerry Palm and he’s better than Joe Lunardi. #Facts

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
