SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “Elbow” Edition

Good Friday to You Steelers’ Fans!

No elbow has been watched this closely since 1983 when Terry Bradshaw’s popped and ultimately ended his career. Ben Roethlisberger’s elbow is nowhere as bad but we are keeping an eye on it regardless. Big Ben hasn’t practiced all week (he typically gets Wednesday off anyway) which means today is a really important day for him. If doesn’t practice today then he won’t play on Sunday. That would mean Josh Dobbs getting his first career start. If that comes to pass it will create many talking points both before and after the game. My understanding is that Roethlisberger will practice today so we’ll see.

We discussed this, the Bell strategy and the Chiefs on the latest Steel City Blitz Steelers Podcast 92 presented by 26shirts.com/Pittsburgh. Give it a listen and give us a positive rating on iTunes too!

I’ll update the injury report below but the Chiefs may be without safety Eric Berry who has not practiced at all this week. That is not good for a secondary that gave up over 400 yards passing last week.

Tweet of the Day… We also discussed this on the podcast too!

Make sure you’re checking out Ian’s WPIAL Games of the Week. It’s Week Three already believe it or not.

Thinking about the Hall of Fame for a second… The topic of whether there is a bias against the Steelers comes up quite frequently. Because they’ve had so many get into the HoF there’s a feeling that the voters tend to look in other directions now. Alan Faneca for example is a sure-fire Hall of Famer and while I believe he will get in, probably this year, I can’t help but wonder if it was intentional. L.C. Greenwood may be a better example. Lots of ‘football people’ believe him to be worthy yet is he a victim of this bias? It’s hard to say but what I can tell you is that every voter goes in with some form of agenda. If they claim they don’t? I don’t buy it.

I agree with my fellow grumpy old man here. Keep ties in the game. This constant need for a winner and loser in the regular season drives me nuts.

I’ll have the Three-Point Stance Game Preview up later today so check that out for the latest news on injuries and keys to the game! Here’s one nugget for you… The Chiefs gave up over 500 yards of offense last week including a whopping 5.6 yards per carry.

Have a great weekend Steeler Nation!

When Ben doesn’t get reps he suffers and the only one that doesn’t believe this is Ben. Ok everyone pretend this isn’t true, Let’s go into week 2 no practice no reps and i’ll just step in an push it to A B. ISN’T THIS GETTING OLD?
