SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “Ravens Lose” Edition

by Steeldad

Good Morning Steelers Fans!

In case you missed it last night, the Patriots defeated the Ravens 30-23 in a game that was not nearly as close as the score indicated. A couple of special teams’ gaffes led to two Ravens’ scores in the second half. So here’s the deal. Nothing changes for the Steelers. They still control their own destiny. Win out and they take the AFC North.

As much as I’d like to talk “Ravens,” the Steelers cannot afford to look past the Cincinnati Bengals this week. Cincy has nothing to lose and everything to gain by beating their arch nemesis for the first time in their last four games. The Bengals are banged up but they’ve won two straight and if the Steelers aren’t prepared they will leave with a loss.

The Steelers are off today which means it’s time for Head Coach Mike Tomlin to give his weekly press conference. You can see that live on steelers.com or ROOT SPORTS at Noon ET. Get ready for the cliches and superlatives.

Sounds like Bengals’ superstar receiver A.J. Green will practice tomorrow. He’s missed the last three games with a hamstring injury.

The NFL announced the four match-ups for the games in London in 2017. The Steelers will NOT be playing in any of them. I have made several friends across the pond who I know would love for the Steelers to come back over. I’ve been pretty outspoken against the whole thing period but that doesn’t mean I don’t want them to get a chance to see their team play.

Tweet of the Day… Help Mrs. Moats out!!

I’m still amazed at how fast the Steelers’ Defense looked Sunday. It’s what Tomlin and Butler have envisioned.

James Harrison was given yet another “Random” drug test this week. I believe that’s like seven this year? Anyway, it appears obvious to me that the NFL is skeptical about Harrison’s tremendous play at his age. If this is the case, why isn’t Tom Brady being “randomly” tested just as often? He’s 39 and is putting up huge numbers. Food for thought.

You really should take a moment to appreciate Mike Tomlin. Look at what Rams’ fans just had to endure with Jeff Fisher.

Going to watch some All-22 today. Looking forward to: O-Line play. Not looking forward to: Ben’s three picks.

Darrius Heyward-Bey is out of his walking boot and is no longer using a scooter to get around. I think the goal is for him to be ready for week 17 or the postseason.

Have a great Tuesday Steeler Nation!
