SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “JuJu Boo-Boo” Edition

Good Thursday to you Steelers’ Fans!

Steelers’ Rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster took a shot to his lower leg yesterday at practice and stayed down for about five minutes. He would eventually get up and go off under his own power albeit with a limp. Head Coach Mike Tomlin said in his post-practice comments that the injury is not thought to be “serious” but Smith-Schuster was reportedly scheduled to have a MRI. Let’s hope this is nothing more than a boo-boo and that he’ll be able to return to practice ASAP.

Tonight is the latest installment of the Steel City Blitz Podcast Presented by 26shirts.com/Pittsburgh. We’ll discuss JuJu, the latest depth chart and much more!

Speaking of the depth chart, as I explained when the first one came out, you have to take it with a significant grain of salt. Players who will start the opener like Maurkice Pouncey and Mike Mitchell are not on the chart. Of course this depends on their overall health but them not being on the depth chart means little.

ICYMI: Last night I wrote about four Steelers who need to show well this weekend against the Falcons.

Tweet of the Day… Deep thoughts from Trai Essex.

I find it disturbing how people are spinning the Ezekiel Elliott suspension into something that takes the onus off of domestic violence. You know what? Maybe his ex-girlfriend is in fact trying to make things horrible for him but does that suddenly mean the violence against her didn’t happen? We are losing sight of what’s really important here.

If you’re pulling for a long-shot to make this roster then free safety Jacob Hagen would be a guy to root for. He’s had a very nice Camp to this point and while I think his chances of making it are small, he’s done the things you want to see. He’s gotten bigger and he’s definitely improved his skillset over the last year.

Did Joey Porter overstep his bounds by declaring T.J. Watt the starter at OLB? It’s possible because according to James Harrison that was news to him. The depth chart (grain of salt), also has Harrison still listed as the starter.

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
