SCB Steelers Quick Hitters for 3/4/16

One of my favorite sites for checking out what’s going on during the pre-draft and free agency period is walterfootball.com. This is an example of the good work they do as they compiled a list of players who interviewed well and those who didn’t. It’s subjective to a point but I still appreciate the work put into this.

Something to always keep in mind as free agency approaches is that as teams cut players that doesn’t mean the Steelers will be interested in every one of them as you’d think by reading social media. The more you know…

Very pleased to tell you that I have participated in a “point/counter-point” piece with Dani Bostick of Behind the Steel Curtain. Look for that coming up soon on their website!

This might be one of Chris’ best mock drafts this early in the process. Check it out!

Keep an eye on Cornerback Harlan Miller out of Southeastern Louisiana. I think he’s a guy who could be there in the second or third round and he has decent size and speed.

Tweet of the Day… Don’t hold your breath on a suspension people.

Steelers.com writer Bob Labriola made it a point to shoot down bloggers with his comments about “who the Steelers meet with at the Combine.” You can read it for yourself but my personal take is this; with limited access (and certainly much less than him) I can only tell you about what I know. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know the Steelers interviewed/met with many, many more players than has been reported publicly. I can only comment on the ones I’m confirmed they spoke with.

Labriola also mentioned that he believes Landry Jones will enter the season as the number two quarterback. He could be right but that would mean the team has exhausted a number of better possibilities.

With Von Miller slated to be on Dancing With the Stars, that likely means Antonio Brown won’t be. I’m good with that. Save the dancing for the end zone AB!

[Update:] WTAE is reporting that Brown will in fact appear on season 22 of Dancing With the Stars. Ugh.

Have a great weekend Steeler Nation!
