SCB Steelers Quick Hitters for 3/29/16

by Steeldad

Happy Tuesday Steelers’ Fans.

I wrote about it last night and ya, I’m dwelling on it way longer than I should, but Brandon Boykin has moved on. He signed with Carolina yesterday.

Antonio Brown survived the first round of cuts on “Dancing With the Stars” last night. According to my Twitter timeline, he performed very well and was not exactly rewarded by the judges but still advanced to the next round. As you probably know we at SCB are split on his participating in this. Some are for it and some are not.

One of the ways that new Steelers’ tight end Ladarius Green will help Antonio Brown and perhaps other receivers as well is that he will be able to get deep a lot faster than Heath Miller could. Why is that important? Because it creates space underneath. Getting the ball into the hands of our receivers while they are on the run goes a long way towards moving the sticks.

Here’s Chris’s write up on SE Louisiana’s Harlan Miller.

Kudos to NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt, Jr who announced he’d be donating his brain to science when he leaves the Earth. We must continue to have more athletes from outside of football do this in order to keep all sports in the conversation about head trauma. It isn’t just a football problem and it can’t be.

Tweet of the Day… This is from a great friend of SCB who is one of the funniest guys on Twitter.

Last week it was Jerry Jones and this week it’s Colts’ owner Jim Irsay who has stuck his foot in his mouth over brain injuries and football. He compared the symptoms to people taking aspirin. “Everyone reacts differently.” Just shut up.

Another NFL player has retired due to concerns over concussions. Husain Abdullah announced he was leaving the game after seven seasons in the NFL.

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
