SCB Steelers Quick Hitters for 12/31/15

by Steeldad

The Steelers will practice today from 1-3pm.

Latest Injury News: Did Not Participate Ben Roethlisberger, Martavis Bryant, James Harrison (illness), Antwon Blake (back), Mike Mitchell (shoulder)… CLE Johnny Manziel (concussion), Joe Thomas (knee), Travis Benjamin (ankle)

Terrific column from the Trib’s Joe Starkey on the Steelers’ arrogance which is one of the many concerns people have with Mike Tomlin’s teams recently.

Congratulations to Antonio Brown who was voted as the Steelers’ team MVP yesterday. Brown admitted that he voted for himself… as well as Ben Roethlisberger. While Brown is deserving, it’s hard to believe Big Ben has only won the award one time.

Tweet of the Day… A ‘Get well’ message for Big Ben. Monica is a good friend to the site!

With Johnny Manziel in concussion protocol, that means the Steelers would see Austin Davis at quarterback for the Browns. Let the “Another no-name QB to torch the defense” commentaries begin.

I think that regardless of what happens on Sunday we will see some significant changes to the Steelers’ roster in 2016. I also believe there will be some changes to the coaching staff as well. How big will the changes be? I think they’ll be bigger on the roster than the coaching staff.

I sincerely hope, that if the Jets should win on a missed Bills’ field goal, that Steelers’ fans do not take their anger out on the Bills or their kicker. This assumes the Steelers win of course but keep this in mind please; the Steelers are way they are because of no one but themselves.

Have a great and safe New Year’s Eve Steelers’ Nation!

Starkey is so right…we’ve been saying this for years. The Steelers are an arrogant bunch and have been for a long time. That can be a good trait to have in moderation but when you are on the verge of missing the playoffs for the 3rd time in 4 years…something has to give. But alas, it won’t…
