Well, that was fast. Pittsburgh Steelers Training Camp 2016 is over already.
Steelers’ Head Coach Mike Tomlin was asked about the team’s position with regard to James Harrison. Harrison as you know has been told he needs to meet with NFL investigators by the 25th of August or he’ll face suspension. Tomlin’s approach is that he nor the team have any need to be involved. It’s a James Harrison issue and James Harrison will deal with it. That was the gist I got.
As for Harrison, he reiterated yesterday that he’d be happy to meet with the NFL. “Like I said, I don’t have a problem doing an interview. Come to my house, bring (NFL commissioner) Roger (Goodell) with you,” Harrison said. (h/t Triblive) As I wrote on Tuesday, I do not see Harrison backing down even if it means he misses games due to suspension.
As the preseason winds down, we’ll start putting together all of our previews and predictions for the site. You won’t want to miss any of it.
Our #nailthenumber contest is coming next week too courtesy of Craig Scott. Another SCB feature you will not want to miss!!

So yesterday in this space I threw out that Steelers’ rookie Travis Feeney is in serious trouble of even making the practice squad due to injuries and limited time in practice. Of course he practiced yesterday and according to our eyes in the sky looked pretty damn good. Just one day but I’d love to be wrong about him.
For this week anyway, the Steelers will roll with just Landry Jones and Dustin Vaughan as the quarterbacks. We still haven’t gotten definitive word of Bruce Gradkowski’s hamstring injury other than “it’s severe.” I have to believe they are vetting veteran QBs available.
Have a great day Steeler Nation!!
