This Is Glorious: Steelers-Titans Tweetcap

The Titans came into Pittsburgh on Thursday Night for a massive showdown between division leaders. The Steelers emerged victorious in a big game in the race for homefield advantage in the playoffs. Ben ran the no huddle to perfection and Antonio Brown had an incredible night with 3 TDs. The defense stepped up with 5 sacks and 4 interceptions and the Steelers now get an extra few days off to rest up and make a big push after Thanksgiving.

The Thursday night pregame festivities got off to a roaring start, but things settled in once the game started.

The “Madden” camera angle of behind the quarterback was used for the first few plays

The Steelers also came out in no huddle and worked the ball quickly down the field.

Then AB did AB things went up and made a big grab for a long TD between defenders.

On the Titans third play, Mariota badly floated one over the middle and Mike Hilton picked it off.

A holding penalty set things back but Boz still extended the lead to 10-0.

The Titans bailed themselves out by getting a delay of game penalty that negated a third down stop then went to the ground and started taking advantage of the Steelers subpar tackling efforts.

The Titans got it inside the 10 then on third and goal Mariota scrambled in for the score

The Steelers responded to the Titans scoring by going 3 and out.

In other Pittsburgh sports news…

Back at Heinz, the Titans converted a 4th and 1 with a QB sneak.

Tennessee tried a 48-yard field goal but TJ Watt got his hand out and blocked it.

The teams traded 3-and-outs with both teams getting sacks on third down.

The Titans started moving the ball but thankfully Coty Sensabaugh stepped in front of a pass and set the Steelers up in the red zone.

The Steelers finally got the ball in Le’Veon Bell’s hands on a swing pass and he converted a third down, the first conversion of the game.

They didn’t, and had to settle for another field goal in the red zone.

The Steelers gifted the Titans some extra time by using their timeouts, but Tennessee wasn’t aggressive and punted it back to the Steelers. The offense struggled to get going but Ben found AB who fumbled but Martavis was able to fall on it.

The offense couldn’t do anything else, but Boz connected from 50.

The Steelers took a 16-7 lead into the half, but Tennessee came out and hit a bomb on the first play from scrimmage for a long touchdown.

The Steelers went back to the no huddle and were able to move down the field with the short passing game.

AB cashed it in with a red zone TD.

The Titans came right back, working the ball down the middle of the field.

Thankfully, Cam Heyward stepped up and produced a big 3rd down sack to force a field goal.

The Steelers came out in the no huddle again and Ben continued to be efficient working the ball down the field.

The Steelers ran the ball in the red zone and scored a touchdown!

Review overturned the touchdown, saying Bell’s knee was down, but on the next play Ben went play-action and hit a wide open Jesse James for the score.

The Steelers defense forced a 3-and-out and the offense drove it right back into the red zone using the short passing game and hit AB who made an other-worldly catch in the end zone, pinning the ball against his helmet.

The Steelers blasted Renegade and the defense responded with a tipped pass and an interception by Rob Golden.

The Steelers kept driving successfully against LeBeau’s Titans defense.

The offense stalled out in the Red Zone, but it really didn’t matter at this point. Boz connected to get us to 40.

The Titans got the ball back but the game was essentially over and all that was left was to play out the closing minutes.

And the defense capped it off with their FOURTH interception of Mariota, this one courtesy of Sean Davis jumping a route.
