The WPIAL playoff structure is different for each classification. In 6A, 5A, and 4A there are two conferences and the 8 playoff spots are filled by the top 4 teams from each. In 3A, there are 3 conferences and the 8 playoff spots are filled by the top 2 teams from each conference along with 2 Wild Card teams. In 2A and 1A there are 3 conferences and the 16 playoff spots are comprised of the top 5 teams from each conference plus one 1 Wild Card team. The conference standings are first and foremost determined by Conference Record, Head-to-Head, Gardner Points, and WPIAL Standings Points tiebreakers. The Wild Cards are contested between the 3rd place teams in 3A and the 6th place teams in 2A and 1A. The regular WPIAL Standings page can be found here. Class 3A

Top 2 teams from each conference make the playoffs
2 third-place teams will earn Wild Cards
The 3 conference champions plus one second place team (based on the Wild Card formula) will get home playoff games in the first round
For the Allegheny Conference and Interstate Conference, Wild Card records are the same as conference records
For the Beaver Valley Conference, Wild Card records are their conference games PLUS one head-to-head game against the Interstate Conference
