Good Tuesday to you Steelers’ Fans!
Belated Christmas wishes to you all! The Steelers did exactly what we hoped they would do by winning big in Houston 34-6. While it’s nice to win on Christmas, I’m in no hurry to see our Black and Gold play on this holiday any time soon.
With Antonio Brown out, I thought Ben Roethlisberger did an excellent job of distributing the ball around to numerous receivers. Consider that five different receivers had four or more targets. Justin Hunter had just one but he grabbed his first touchdown of the year on it.
B.J. Finney once again stepped in for Ramon Foster and did an excellent job at guard. Ben Roethlisberger was not sacked and Le’Veon Bell collected 69 yards rushing on just 14 carries.
If you had any doubt there was some friction between Big Ben and Todd Haley then I think there were plenty of camera shots that proved that to be true. Roethlisberger was usually around Mike Tomlin and/or Quarterbacks’ Coach Randy Fichtner any time he was on the sideline during a break.
Not sure what got into Eli Rogers yesterday but he was a serious spark as a punt returner. He had 82 yards on five returns for an average of 16.4 per return. If he can continue to do that moving forward that’s huge in terms of starting field position.
Tweet of the Day… Good to see you back for the stretch run Marcus.
Blessed to be back out there with my brothers. Truly the best gift i could ask for. S/o to all my family, teammates and Day 1/real fans for sticking with me through a tough four weeks. To the other ones, keep doing what you been doing. Motivation that’s all it is 🙏🏾🙌🏾

Mike Hilton has to be one of the best free agent finds for the Steelers in many years. He collected three sacks yesterday and was a thorn in the side of the Texans all day.
The Pro Bowl itself is a joke. But it means something for the players to get selected for it. Cam Heyward’s omission from the game is preposterous and he displayed why again. He collected two sacks and a forced fumble. He has 12 sacks on the season.
The run defense scares the crap out of me. They gave up 176 yards on the ground to Houston.
Tweet of the Day #2… Self-Reflection is a very important part of growth.
I wanna be known for my play and not my antics. Gotta grow up

JuJu Smith-Schuster started slowly with a touches for minimal to no gain but he finished strong with six catches for 75 yards and a score. He also had another classic touchdown celebration where pretended to open a present.
I wonder what backyard football games for the three Watt boys were like?
Bud Dupree probably had one of his best overall games on Monday. He didn’t have a sack but he had six tackles and was as active as I’ve seen him in sometime. He was better on the edge and pursued from the backside very well.
I’ll have more on this in the coming week but Mike Tomlin’s approach to his starters on Sunday will be curious. The Steelers-Browns game will be going on the same time as the Patriots-Jets. I think there will be some serious scoreboard watching.
Kurt Warner became the latest analyst to use the phrase “Antonio Bryant” when discussing AB. Could someone explain to me what is so damned difficult about getting this right?
One of Big Ben’s best throws yesterday was actually an incompletion. He threw a beautiful ball into the back corner of the end zone to Jesse James who briefly had the ball. Credit the defender with the break-up but it was as pretty a throw as you’ll ever see.
The Texans have an interesting decision with their head coach. I’m not all that impressed with Bill O’Brien but I’m not sure any coach has endured the amount of injuries he has.
Have a terrific week Steeler Nation!
