Steelers Still Have a Lot to Accomplish on Final Day of the Draft

by Steeldad

BryantIf you would have told me last week at this time that the Pittsburgh Steelers would enter the third and final day of the NFL Draft without a cornerback or wide receiver having been chosen I would have said you’re nuts.

Please pass the Planters.

The Steelers enter today needing to address both of those positions today as the Draft wraps up in New York City.

After adding Ohio State linebacker Ryan Shazier on day one, they added Notre Dame defensive end Stephon Tuitt and Kent State running back Dri Archer near the end of the third round.

I have to believe the Steelers are looking at Clemson’s Martavis Bryant and Wisconsin’s Jared Abberderis as potential wide receiver picks while two cornerbacks on their radar should be Pierre Desir of Lindenwood and Bashaud Breeland of Clemson.

Should the Steelers ignore the receiver position the rest of the way then this will signal overwhelming support for Markus Wheaton, Derek Moye and Justin Brown and I’m not so sure I share that optimism.

Before we go there however, let’s see how things play out. I also expect additions to the offensive line and tight end before the day is over.
