052913-NFL-Pittsburgh-Steelers-Sean-Spence-PI-BR_20130529151527454_660_320Heading to camp today? Here’s your official camp guide from steelers.com. Practice starts at 255pmET.

-Your camp forecast today calls for partly sunny skies and highs around 79 degrees.

-Make sure you check out our first Blitz Steelers’ Fan Podcast for the 2014 season. It’s me and @retrorockcity.

-Here are the always keen practice observations of @ChrisG_BR… Rather sloppy practice overall, especially from the receivers sans Antonio Brown… Watching a running back try to escape the grasp of McCullers is like watching a fly trying to escape a spider web… Roethlisberger jumped on Martavis Bryant for not coming back to the ball… Lawrence Timmons was all over the field and dominating against the run… Ike dropped an interception (shocker) and everyone on the field yelled, “C’mon Ike!”… He immediately did ten push-ups by the way… Sean Spence had first team reps with Shazier out and was beaten on a crossing route by Heath Miller… Been listening to the ball hit off the hands of the running backs. A thud when hits Blount and Archer. Near silence when it’s Bell. Soft hands.

-One quick report from Twitter funny man @SuckMeter… All I got out of Steelers Training Camp was bug bites.”

-Don’t forget that the NFL is experimenting with longer extra points during the first two weeks of the preseason. The actual length of the PAT will be 33 yards.

-The uprights of the goalposts will also be extended another five feet up.

-Mark Kaboly of the Tribune-Review broke the story on Steve McLendon’s injury as he missed a fourth day of practice. Kaboly reports a concussion has sidelined the Steelers’ nose tackle.

-Ryan Shazier, Jarvis Jones, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Cam Heyward and Marcus Gilbert all sat out yesterday’s practice.

-With Gilbert out, Mike Adams took over at right tackle and looked great in the running game and so-so in the passing game. In other words, the beat goes on…

-Kaboly also reports that rookie offensive lineman Wesley Johnson continues to struggle. He looked bad a couple of times in pass protection drills getting beat by Terrance Garvin both times.

-Ralph Paulk of the Tribune-review had a brief interview with David DeCastro.

ESPN’s Scott Brown reiterated Chris’ thoughts about a sloppy practice.

-Video for today is one of many classics from one of my all-time favorites. Carl Spackler meets the Dalai Lama
