SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “I Want My Bicycle” Edition

Good Day Steelers’ Fans! Get over that hump!!

We are just seven weeks in but already this season has been one hell of a roller coaster ride for the Pittsburgh Steelers. From National Anthem issues and sideline rants to social media outbursts and trade demands, it has been downright crazy. While not nearly as “serious,” Steelers’ rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster had his bike stolen from the practice facility yesterday. Antonio Brown is offering tickets to a home game for anyone who can find the bike and even Primanti Brothers is offering a week of free sandwiches for it’s safe return. Most of social media, including Smith-Schuster himself, has been pretty light-hearted about the whole thing. So… on the off chance that you’re reading this and you’re the one who took his bike, could you please give him back his bicycle?

Martavis Bryant followed game one of the World Series this morning on ESPN’s ‘Mike and Mike’ and as you might imagine, his actions were not received well by anyone brought on to discuss the situation. The summation? The Steelers owe him NOTHING and regardless of much he complains they won’t move him. If anything, they can just make him more miserable by making him inactive on gamedays. I hope it doesn’t go to that extent but unless another team is willing to break the bank for him, he’s not going anywhere.

I like Jesse James a lot. He’s a good football player who works hard and stays quiet off the field. I do not like Jesse James when he has to block in-line. Despite his tremendous strength, he just can’t win at the point of attack consistently enough and some of the short yardage failures Sunday were in part due to him.

Tweet of the Day… If you follow JuJu Smith-Schuster on Twitter then you may know he told noted sports’ fan and adult film star Mia Khalifa to get lost when she tweeted at him. This is came later.

As the Steelers return to practice today after their day off, keep an eye on the injury list. Marcus Gilbert claims he’s ready to go while Stephon Tuitt is still uncertain. JJSS, according to Mike Tomlin is in concussion protocol so stay tuned.

One of my favorite things to do each week is read the chat transcript of the Post-Gazette’s Ed Bouchette. I give Ed a hard time a lot but I do have great empathy for him. Some of the questions he’s asked are so ridiculous that I don’t know how his brain doesn’t explode. Also, people are not only still calling him ‘Martavious’ but they also can’t spell ‘Haden’ either. D’oh!

Le’Veon Bell is on pace according to Ed Bouchette for the second most touches in a single NFL season.

Here’s one for you… The New York Jets have scored more offensive TDs (17) than the Steelers have (15).

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
