SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: Tomlin Tuesday

by Steeldad

Good day Steelers’ Fans! Hope you enjoyed your Monday as you walked proudly (as usual) with your Black and Gold gear on…

Steelers’ Head Coach Mike Tomlin will hold his weekly press conference today at Noon. Watch it live at steelers.com.

One topic is certain to be injuries. Marcus Gilbert was in a boot and on crutches yesterday and had an MRI as well. I think it is very safe to say he will not play on Sunday.

Artie Burns played more snaps on Sunday night than I think many of us thought he’d see on defense all season. A lot of fans are already down on him but you have to breathe people and keep some things in mind. this kid is a crazy-good athlete who is very raw at the cornerback position. His fundamentals are still a work in progress and for anyone to start calling this kid a bust is ridiculous.

Do not underestimate the New York Jets this week. At 1-3 they are desperate and they also have a very good defensive front that can easily make life miserable for our offensive line and Ben Roethlisberger. I think you’ll see more wide receiver screens and quick throws in an effort to slow them down.

Four straight weeks!! No winners in our ‘Nail the Number’ contest. Pot grows to $1,400!! New contest comes out tomorrow!!

A lot of people call bloggers like me hypocritical. They say this in regards to Le’Veon Bell who we chastised and now cheer for since he’s returned. Let me be very clear; my criticism of Bell has never been about his on-field performance. It’s been about his behavior off of it. That behavior has affected what he can do on the field – in fact – it has kept him off the field period. Therefore, I will continue to cheer for Le’Veon Bell but that doesn’t mean I’m not disappointed in his choices off the field and how they affect the team.

Tweet of the Day… One last time if you missed these.

ICYMI… Here was my Steelers’ alphabet guide.

I’m issuing a new challenge. Despite my being an old curmudgeon, I have no problem when players who score dance and celebrate. As long as it does not taunt the opponent or the crowd, I’m fine with having some fun. With this in mind, I think it’s time to start the hashtag #LetABdance. He’s going to get fined again this week for having fun. This league just kills me sometimes.

Have a great day Steeler Nation!
