SCB Steelers’ Quick Hitters: The “Tighten Things Up?” Edition

Good Tuesday to You Steelers’ Fans.

If there was any theme coming from the players late Sunday and on Monday it was that they need to “tighten things up.” This can be translated a number of ways but after two straight frustrating losses I think I know what they’re saying. They feel like they’re playing well but need to take better care of the little things. I would agree with that for the most part but I believe it goes further. The coaches as much as the players have to “tighten things up” too. The penalties, poor game-planning and missed assignments have to be addressed as well. For the sake of all of us I hope things are indeed ‘tightened up.’

Mike Tomlin press conference today at Noon.

I appreciate that Bud Dupree is playing hurt. Really I do, but his impact is minimal at best. The Steelers need more pressure from the outside from him and T.J. Watt.

Tweet of the Day… Always good to see the greats.

This created quite a firestorm yesterday but I stand by it. Keith Butler should not be back next year and the issues the Chargers exposed Sunday night were the last straw for me.

I’m guessing many of you saw the video from Sunday night where two Steelers’ fans are fighting. I’m not got to post it here. Rather, I’m going to suggest to people to grow the hell up. This is part of the reason many people don’t want to attend games any longer. Wasn’t it bad enough that the team was imploding on the field? If you’re going to act like a total ass hole then go somewhere else.

I’ve seen a lot of discussion about the Steelers bringing in C.J. Anderson who rushed for over 1,000 yards just least season. Here’s my question… If he really is that good then why haven’t other teams signed him? Remember people, there’s always a reason as to why guys are still free agents in week 13 of the season.

James Harrison is who he is. Personally, I’m glad he was there for Alumni Weekend. He was an important part of some very good teams and deserves the accolades. Not all football players are “great guys” and I think he probably falls into that category. I can still appreciate what he did on the field.

Has anyone besides a linebacker covered Keenan Allen yet?

Have a good day Steeler Nation!
